Efforts to improve Old Town Bowie persist; art festival planned for May pending coronavirus restrictions

Efforts to turn Old Town Bowie into an arts and entertainment district persist, with organizers hoping to throw an art festival this May, pending the status of the pandemic. Susan and Paul Buckley, the informal mayors of Old Town Bowie, were recognized through a Bowie City Council proclamation last week for their decades of service to the neighborhood; they have helped organize festivals, have volunteered for decades at Ascension Catholic Church and when COVID-19 hit, they set up benches for safe outdoor seating.
