‘Indisposable’ Reveals the Lived Experience of Disability Through Art

The short film El Dios Acostado, from Ecuadorian-American artist Alex Dolores Salerno, describes how Americans in search of health and longevity flocked to Vilcabamba in Ecuador, changing local culture and creating more pollution. The film incorporates access as part of its aesthetic, featuring captions and audio descriptions in Spanish and English. A Ford Foundation Gallery exhibition co-curated by Professor Ann Fox and Jessica Cooley ’05 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act debuts Sept. 17.
