(Stephen Simpson) Participants in a Labor Day chalk-in draw messages and images on the La Jolla Bike Path in a show of support for the Black Lives Matter movement. San Diego city workers washed away the artwork Sept. 16 following residents’ complaints about it. Letters to the editor: Why remove chalk art and its positive messages?

I am writing to convey my dismay at the city’s decision to wash away chalk art on the bike path in support of Black Lives Matter.
